I haven’t worked out since November, I am SO ready for the New Year fresh start!! 🍾🥂

Hey Reader,

I haven’t worked out since November. I did three bike rides in December, but they were all on the stationary bike. I haven’t done a lifting workout since November.

And while I’m ready to jump back into my workouts in the New Year, I wanted to talk about the missing link that a lot of people aren’t following through on. They jump into habit change trying to do whole life overhauls and get overwhelmed by all the things they think they should be doing with their nutrition.

But the BIGGEST dial mover they should be focusing on is eating enough protein.

Maybe you think you’re eating pretty well, you’re eating clean, you’re trying to reduce calories, and limit certain carbohydrates or extra fats, but you’re not seeing the results. Your energy is crashing in the afternoons. You end up in front of the fridge late at night.

All of these things are probably as a result of the fact that you aren’t necessarily fueling yourself in the way that your body needs.

Protein is a game changer.

It’s really about understanding the hunger that is created when you move your body. And how to mitigate that feeling so that you aren’t snacking at 3:30 PM and eating an entire bag of chips and then wanting another snack after you’ve had a full dinner.

This is for you if:

  • You feel like you are actually eating the meals that you should be eating, but you still feel snacky an hour later
  • You start the day with a coffee and a pastry and good intentions
  • You’re trying to lose fat or build muscle, but still feel like you’re getting stuck
  • You’re always thinking about food, there’s that constant food noise in your head
  • You’re feeling tired or foggy or cranky in the afternoons
  • You overeat at night even though you had a full meal at dinner

I used to think that it was an emotional eating issue, that I was just too depressed and that me falling into a bowl of carbohydrates — mac and cheese, and a pint of ice cream, was just me being emotional.

It wasn’t until I started to pay attention to how I was eating, what I was eating, and if I was eating the right ratios of macronutrients to support my body, that things changed.

The problem isn’t you. It’s not about willpower, it’s not about discipline. It’s not about motivation even. It’s about understanding what your body needs to feel safe and secure so that you don’t have that constant food noise.

For me it was a game changer. It’s that first lever that needs to be pulled.

I’m gonna be doing a FREE training towards the end of January that’s all about helping you master how to increase your protein intake and how that is the first step.

This is about understanding what your body actually needs and how to set yourself up so that you actually follow through on that. When your body feels safe and fed, everything gets easier.

Imagine going through your day without constantly second guessing your food choices and feeling like you’re confident and you know what to eat.

If any of this in this sounded like something that resonated with you, stay tuned so that you get first dibs when I drop all the details about my training.

P.S. I’ll be raving from 7pm till 5am tonight to welcome in the New Year. I hope you get to celebrate however you enjoy doing that, a glass of champagne and a cookie — food is meant to be enjoyed, not stressed over.

I spent this morning reviewing my calendar from this past year and reflecting on wins and losses - and ways of being that served and didn’t serve me. Here are 28 lessons I had handed to me over and over again in 2025. Take what speaks to you, leave what doesn’t. The world is beautiful, don’t get trapped inside. Get off the computer, keep with your check in/ check out process. Lean into your hobbies, you have space (literally) for this. Eat the frogs, your energy will thank you. You have all...

The winter arc era is upon us. Instagram is filled with coaches selling you their programs to help you stay on track through the holidays. We even have people already selling you into 8-week shred programs starting in the New Year. And while I’m all for health and fitness challenges to motivate you - I am taking a much more laid-back approach to my health this season, and I think you should t0o. The world seems to be crashing and burning around us, both literally and figuratively, and I don’t...

I was listening to a podcast the other day on my walk, and one of the speakers talked about how she had gotten to her success in life because she had acted as if “she had the audacity of a white man.” And that struck a chord. How often do us, gender minorities, stay small, speak less, accept less, ask for less, and compromise our own well-being to make other people comfortable? I have been going through it these past few months and so much of my stress would be alleviated if I just set...
