I’ve talked about building a walking habit over the last year or so, and I’ve finally put my method all together in one place. As part of my “Get Thriving” Community, I wanted to share it with you! Why is a Daily Walk so important? Honestly, it’s less about the actual movement and more about what building this type of habit does for your mental health. To me, my little morning walks are time that I devote to myself. I put in a podcast, grab a cup of coffee, and head outside (weather permitting). It’s a few minutes in my day when I don’t have to check in with anyone else. I don’t have to answer emails or text messages. I can listen to a podcast that I find motivational and inspiring — and full of all the woohoo cheesy shit that makes some people cringe. It’s me time. And while my body LOVES it, that is just an added benefit. The real benefit is that during those 30-45 minutes, I check out. I don’t look at my phone. I don’t have to be anywhere; nobody needs me. And I want this for you. You might be thinking that this won’t work for you. And I understand that sentiment. But my Blueprint isn’t about doing a whole life overhaul; it’s focused on breaking down this new behavior into the exact steps you need to set yourself up for success. You’ll get out of your own way and overcome the obstacles that keep stopping your progress. Building a Daily Walk is a form of self-care, and that’s what I’m all about these days - showing up for the little moments of self-care. It’s these habits that are my foundation and that are helping to keep me sane and alive. Let me know what you think! Morgan |

You do NOT need to do everything perfectly in order to get results. You just need to do a few things mostly well and consistently. I went through a bulk (where I was eating in a surplus to put on muscle) a couple years ago and I had a spreadsheet where I was tracking probably 20 different metrics - steps, sleep, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, my cycle, sleep, hydration, energy, measurements, weight, my lifts etc… And it while I THRIVE in data - even for me it was overwhelming each week to have...
I underestimate big projects (“Oh, that’ll take 30 minutes!” *It took 3 hours)I’m brilliant at creating monster to-do lists- I’m terrible at figuring out what actually needs to happen TODAY- I underestimate big projects (“Oh, that’ll take 30 minutes!” *It took 3 hours)- I overestimate small tasks (“This will eat my whole morning!” *It took 5 minutes)I'm feeling behind this week. Last week? I managed three late nights of dancing, head-banging to great music, living my best life. This week? I’m...
I squashed my perfectionist brain yesterday and painted for the first time in maybe years. Instead of spending another day thinking about how much I wanted to do art, that I needed to set up a space, carve out some time, and dig out my art supplies buried deep in the dreaded junk closet, I took a straw from coaching. I asked myself, ‘How can I make this as low-lift as possible? What do I need? What keeps getting in the way? How can I lower the barrier to entry?’ We often get stuck in these...
